Baroque Music 632 Syllabus

                                            MUS 632 - BAROQUE MUSIC

Evaluation procedures

1.   Examinations - two exams (a mid-term and a "non-cumulative"
final) on assigned readings, assigned listening, and lectures.

 2.   Optional (if you wish a third grade to be averaged with the exam grades):

Write a term paper giving a scholarly presentation of 10-15 pages
in length to be submitted during the final week of classes.  When
appropriate, use musical examples, illustrations, diagrams, or tables
to amplify text.  All examples should be appropriately labeled and
referred to in the text by number.  The paper should be typed
(with footnotes and bibliography) in a format suggested by MUS
601 or by guidelines spelled out in Kate Turabian, A Manual for
       Writers . . . (5th edition).
